    The ever-evolving healthcare industry is always incorporating technological advancements to provide quality service to patients. As a result, more trained professionals are needed, especially in areas of coding and billing. The objective of the program is to prepare students with a solid foundation of medical terminology, billing and coding knowledge, and technological skills so that they can seek entry-level employment skills to work within a medical office, clinic, or hospital setting. Students will learn the principles of billing and coding include use of the CMS 1500 form, ICD-10 codes, CPT codes, HIPAA confidentiality, and legal aspects.     Dental Assisting

    SCHOLARSHIP  MAY BE AVAILABLE - In this course you will learn the skills needed to become a dental assistant. In our lab you will learn how to sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment, gain knowledge of dental assisting responsibilities, radiology, and taking patient records for your job.  A career as a dental assistant offers many opportunities in a fast-growing field. Dental Assistants increase the efficiency of Dentistry in the delivery of quality oral health care.  Our program prepares students for entry-level employment in the dental assisting field. Accreditation by the Council on Occupational Education, Atlanta, GA Credentialing Examination: Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) is taken through Akron Dental Society & Preparation taken at Maplewood Career Center. Program Admission Requirements: HS Diploma or GED, Drivers License or Photo ID, WorkKeys Assessment/Supplies Needed: Scrubs (Dark Navy Blue) and tennis shoes Class start dates subject to change due to low enrollment.  NOTE:  If it is one week before the class is going to start, please call 330-296-2892, Ext. 551010 to sign up.
